And also i recently cut my hair - i no longer have long hair xDD

and because tomorrow is the last day of 2009 i keep thinking back on this turbulent year. Strange it was, so many "celebrities" died, even recently The Rev and also Snow Dash.

Then what i achieved and what i failed. And of course all the things i want to make better in years to come.

After several months and laziness of not using blogger, i thought of staying here on LJ (and after all it really doesn't matter)

i usually update often on twitter and ocassionally on facebook.

So, here i am after a wonderful trip to linz.

I'm far too lazy to write a detailed report so...

exhibition went well, i met wonderful people there

i still have a few catalogues left - if you want one - mail me - they are free.

I'm planning to release a jewel next year. there will be a waiting list for preorders when it's released. anything before doesn't count.

i quit my job today because i wanted freedom and be able to draw again.

i will participate in linz 2011

i smashed a glass full of flies on the receptionist desk in our hotel on purpose.

i beginning preparations for the solo exhib in vienna this dec.

a catalogue of this show will be available next year.

my book will be used as literature in a seminar for consciousness expansion (this sentence was translated freely)

So,

a little update on things going on:

i had the two exhibs in baden & tribuswinkel which were not that exciting but fun. I met some very nice people there who will visit me on the next exhib for a little more talking ^^ I even tried airbrush which i want to do some day for my wooden pieces ^^

This is a drawing i did there on sat. but i have to redraw it (also the last one drawn publicly) because of some technical issues with the quil and the symmetry of the picture...

Update on my next book project:

the 2 pics drawn publicly are from the project but will be redrawn. i haven't done anything for quite a while since i'm working etc but ideas keep floating and the content gets richer and more complex. my vision is very very clear. I will show the very first part of the book in dec. (maybe little before or after depending on the exhib shedule) which will be available as a handbound book in a very limited edition - like ahuh last year which has sold out for quite a while. the whole book will be available sometime 2011.

there is still a part of it i need to develop. I'm looking for some kind of layer which gives the whole thing one more dimension or one more face.

it hurts not working on it for such a long time, but i work until next week and i talk to them if i can swith to 20hrs a week since i can't keep this up. last week was a nightmare.

there are more things to be said but when the time's right..

I think about dying, death and after life etc almost every day. and yesterday and today i came across the following:

the second somehow became an aha moment for me. actually i never thought of that, but it's so obvious... although we have nothing more or less than the present moment in all it's glory and power, i always forget that, someday, when i'm no longer here - my pictures may be still. and also, while the thunder is on it's way now, who I am here being, not to live life in it's fullest? to embrace every moment and treat people as if it's their last day on earth. while my pictures maybe looking towards timelessness i realize now, that i - although a rather silent and shy person - needs extremes to feel alive - bodily and mentally and i am certainly not looking towards eternity. this is my life and i am not on the earth or in the universe but everythings all. we are made of the same things like anything else and our mind separates us. but to feel connected is like feeling the flow, love.

the 2nd thing today - i was listening to a podcast from wyncs radiolab and the topic was afterlife. the spoke about different theories about death on a medical - but interesting and philosophical way.
i don't feel like writing more on that but death became more of a mistery to me now than it was ever before.

tomorrow is opening night of the group exhib and my body feels drained while my spirit is empowered. but i hurts when i think of my book project and how long i haven't been able to work on it. ....

Cityfestival, Action Painting, Exhibitions and work

HI

Yesterday took the city festival in bad vöslau place which was extremely crowded. ... an artist friend of me asked if i want to participate with him there as exhibitors, he had a bar and tables etc. A young artist and me should do some action painting and exhibit in front of the bar.

I heard of that but never thought it would be soooo cool and fun...

This is Max working on large drawings for his academy submission.

Me working on a drawing for my book enjoy this huge spoiler and leak... (there are actual photos of me but i don't have them yet)

We talked so much about this "is studying art really worth it" and he is one of the few people who don't see it as a must but wants to do it because of learning new techniques and meeting people. besides we want to do an exhibition sometime together, i also want a collab but i have to ask XD

on the festival the action painting was really fun, but the people didn't know what we were doing. max and i plan to do it properly with announcement, proper space and time shedules next year since this was so spontanoues

then, i will have a fourth exhib this september, but more infos on that when i have them. it's opening is two hours ahead of the ending of another september exhib. Is this touring already? maybe the best promo for my book? i ordered already new ones..

then, i was told that i could hang up to 16 pictures in pottenstein. so this would be:

tribuswinkel: 5 pics
baden: 5 pics
pottenstein: 16 pics
linz: 11 pics

enzesfeld: wood burnings.

I developed a new concept for wood burning pictures. so beware of spring '10 also 2010 will be the last year which i show drawings of "an himmel und hölle" I deeply hope for a big exhib to present the new book.

of which speaking is going well the first part is 95 % finished sketching and there is a total of 11 finished pages. (i think it has something about 30)

I have a job now which is limited to mid september and it's awfully boring. problem is no mp3 player is allowed and there is really work. only computer work in an office...but i need the money...

there are also whispers of something i did for an author friend but this is far in the future..

Pictor is doing well and nice, but follows everyone around and sqeaks the whole time. i love playing whith him ^^

Sopron - Hungary

Yesterday we were in sopron, hungary which was a great trip ^^

First we went to Tesco and did a little shopping (i boght a hungarian version of harry potter and the philsophers stone for my mother oO) and after that we took a walk through the citiy of sopron:

Then we found this english restaurant and we went there eating:

Blood orange juice

It felt quite refreshing to be in a different place and a nice little break from the artistic things. Today we will go to neufeld swimming and tomorrow: drawing day!!! I'm in time with my august to do list so i think it's ok to take breaks.

Logo Print

hi there

this is my new official logo:

i burnt a piece of wood on a negative way so that everything here visisble remaind in takt, while the white area got burned.

I will buy an ink pad and use this stamp for book signings and prints

so i got the ink pad now and this is what it looks like in the book, with the ink pad used.

Update 2:

After further testing, i really like this kind of technique although it's very raw and the lines are clumsy. I will have to buy a much more finer woodburning head.

i want to print all the cards i want to make for a cardgame in this technique. but i really have to practice more.

I just wrote the last poem for Day and Night - i came to me in a dream last night and it is the best ending and the best passage to continue in the 3rd book. But it reminds me also that everything comes to an end. Even if that's still so far away i feels that i can see it from where I'm now. And I'm afraid of the time after this but i want also to go on and be a space for new things to occure.

But right now, it feels right and this is the best i can do just now.

Auf allen Ausstellungen wird es die Möglichkeit geben, Bücher zu bestellen, in Linz und Enzesfeld auch zu kaufen. Die ausgestellten Bilder variieren bei jeder Ausstellung.

Hi

Die ersten 9 die "An Himmel und Hölle" bei mir bestellen (einfach Email senden) erhalten einen Print aus der Serie "Die 3 großen Bücher" als special dazu.

Sieht folgendermaßen aus:

Jedes Motiv ist auf 3 Stk. limitiert, nummeriert, signiert und auf Büttenpapier gedruckt.

Es bestimmt der Zufall, wer welches Motiv bekommt.

Das Original wird im Oktober in Enzesfeld ausgestellt. Ausserdem wird im September der Artist Proof von der Druckserie in Tribuswinkel, Linz und Pottenstein zu sehen sein.

Ich werde die ersten Fotos vom Buch selbst posten, sobald ich Exemplare erhalten habe.

Hi there

Today i bought these awesome little frames (without any idea how to use them)

And then i got the idea i could make a triptychon with them! o god how i love triptychons!!!!!!!

So I bought these things you see on the photo to get them all together ^^

Then i had the idea of drawing and not woodburning for this but i will burn on wood anyway because the drawing doesn't fit to this concept...

And i broke one of the glasses... *coughs*

I really feel guilty because i intented to work on my book today but got carried away.. i will finish this tomorrow and then...

i will post also pics of the finished version later on.

i know that my english is somewhere between awful and not so good but a few things i recognized:

"mir" is german for me

"charakters" is german for "character"

i know there are some other things but you don't have to rub it under my nose xDDD

Study on wood

Hi there

This is a piece i did today:

it somehow became a study because i found out how to use ink instead of wood varnish and that means that i'm more free with the colours because i can mix them myself ^^

and i used a graphic pencil that reacts with water and it turned out that it gives a pretty good touch to the whole thing.

Besides I'm working on my new book project (LOL) and it's on his way..

update:

i wanted to write a bit more but got interupted and posted it in a hurry

i will begin showing first pictures sometime next year but maybe i show sketches by the end of this year. today i cleaned a little bit around in the manuscript and edited, tomorrow i will work on a specific image circle.

It turns out that the style of the pictures is clearer and cleaner, the imagery is more complex but not always that highly detailed (it wasn't always so the last time but people seem to recognize always the highly detailed..)

sometimes the images seem to be more dramatic in a silent way. I feel that they hold their breaths in this first chapter. or that they are beginning to breathe?

the book will have 3 big chapters which are themed, the last had 5 smaller ones.

as the title is "day and night" sun, moon and stars are the main charakters, while the tree remains a profound foundation and link to the third.

It's not possible to print my book in books on demand

1. The datasize exceeds upload limit

Even under the minimum resolution, the file is to big.

2. If i do a plain b/w version without tea stained background the file is too big.

I can't shrink it because without colour printing, the fine lines can't be printed if the resolution is under 600 dpi.

I really don't know what to think about this...

Update:

I will make the book a5 with tea stained pages. it deeply annoys me, since its original size is a3 and a5 is a fart in the wind compared to that but maybe later i can make this bigger..

But on the other side, everything turns away from this book concept?!? maybe this could be also seen as catalog? Oh what a mess
